The current situation is different than anything we have encountered before, but at its core, we are still providing the same type service as we always have- helping people get back to normal and stay safe from environmental contaminants.

ServiceMaster Restore uses only EPA approved disinfecting solutions for all types of pathogens including COVID-19. ServiceMaster Restore has many years of experience cleaning and disinfecting facilities that have been at risk for exposure to various infectious diseases. We rely on our experience and a scientific, common sense approach that is thorough and cost-effective. We provide protective measures for our staff and take security and privacy into consideration to protect our customers and their facilities.

We only use disinfectants that are on the CDC’s List N as approved for use against COVID-19. A list of these products is available upon request. ServiceMaster Restore follows the OSHA, EPA and CDC’s personal protective equipment and safety recommendations.

We will identify risk factors and establish cleaning and disinfection protocols through the use of approved processes, industry-accepted best practices, and safety regulations using Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-registered disinfectants.

Disinfection is essential to ensuring an environment that does not promote the transmission of infectious pathogen ServiceMaster Restore is on the front line of infection prevention.

Dear ServiceMaster Restore Customer:

The bearer of this letter is a professional engaged in the rendering of essential services, as set forth in the California state order. The employee carrying it is either en route to, working at, or returning from a cleanup site of the nature set forth below.

The professional disaster recovery, commercial and residential cleaning industries are essential services, responsible for the protection of public health and property. We play a vital role in protecting our nation’s public health in both commercial and consumer settings. As the current COVID-19 crisis has unfolded, orders have been promulgated largely at the state and local level with respect to decisions to shelter in place and limit movements.

One common theme, however, is a recognition of the vital importance of service providers who provide services that are necessary to maintaining the safety and sanitation of businesses, public institutions and residences.

ServiceMaster has been providing services to consumers and businesses since 1929. During that time, we have developed industry-leading training and protocols. ServiceMaster Restore have thousands of technicians and service providers trained, tested and certified in the use of the proper products and personal protective equipment (PPE) that enables them to effectively clean and disinfect homes and businesses. Our employees have been trained in the relevant protocols of the State Order.

As providers of essential services, we are prepared to address the most pressing cleaning and disinfection issues facing our customers, whether it involves cleaning schools, public institutions and businesses during shutdown periods, or the day-to-day needs of homes and healthcare facilities. As families are spending more time at home in self-isolation and quarantine in close proximity, it is even more critical that they receive disinfection and sanitization of their homes by residential cleaning services like ServiceMaster. We cannot afford to have our medical facilities, schools, offices or homes rendered dangerous due to risk of infection, particularly as we tell citizens to stay home.

Sincerely yours,

ServiceMaster Restore (Corporate Office)

Dear ServiceMaster Advanced Restoration Customer:
As experts in creating clean, safe and healthy environments, we at ServiceMaster would like to share our expertise to help you enhance preventive protocols for your office.
The current flu season, along with the outbreak of a newer pathogen, the coronavirus (COVID- 19), offers an opportunity to reinforce for your employees the importance of keeping their workspaces clean, safe, and healthy. Our experience and training afford us the ability to promote safe practices for infection prevention within all businesses.
The CDC has published interim guidance for non-health care employers that provides some direction ( response.html). Our preventive recommendations during the current COVID-19 situation are similar to our recommendations during a regular flu season:
  • Encourage sick employees to stay home, including separating sick employees or sending home.
  • Emphasize respiratory etiquette (e.g., coughing into one’s elbow, immediately disposing of used tissues) and hand hygiene by all employees.
  • Provide routine environmental cleaning, especially on high-touch surfaces with general cleaning agents, followed by disposable wipes provided to employees.
  • Advise employees to take safe travel steps.
  • Additional measures with COVID-19: Employees who are well but have a family member with COVID-19 should notify their supervisor and other employees in the workplace.
It is important to keep in mind that COVID-19 is a new and emerging pathogen. Regulators are just beginning to understand COVID-19 — how it spreads, the incubation period, length and severity of illness — knowledge that will continue to develop over time. We will continue to update you as the CDC, EPA, FDA, and OSHA provide more information.
We also want you to know that, while we hope it will not be necessary, we are qualified and equipped with the required protocols and processes should any pathogen outbreak occur within your facility. Please call us if we can be of service.
Best Regards,
Matthew L Bailey
